Watch this movie

Normally I am not one for reviewing books, movies, or TV shows on the internet as people could quabble for days on end regarding how much they hate the ending, or even worse friendships are put on trial over how much they hate said actor/actress. But somehow I feel compelled to put in my few cents on this movie since it was one of the best movies I’ve seen all year. Relax, it’s not a blockbuster.
In a twist of fate I found myself strolling through Myer’s one Thursday-late-shopping-night when after buying some stuff the nice sales lady presented me with two free tickets to a preview of 500 Days Of Summer. Yes, she’s only nice because she gave me something for free. Anyway the point is I don’t pass up free stuff. So off I went to George Street with the lovely companion to sit through what I thought:
a) Was a chick flick/love story
b) Was below average because why else would it be free
The reason I went was:
a) I was bored
b) It was free
c) I like Joseph Gordon-Levitt (remember him from 3rd Rock From The Sun?)
The reason I convinced companion to go:
a) There’s a pretty girl in the movie.
First of all, it wasn’t a chick flick at all. It’s an incredibly stylish film in which graphics and cinematography reign so supreme you would think it wasted on a love story. I won’t spoil it for people who might want to see it, but it’s a movie about modern relationships. That’s all I’ll say at this point, but go see it. It’ll probably play at a Dendy near you.
